If we always stayed in the comfort zone what would life be like? . . . . .
Boring? . . . Stagnant?. . . It would definitely mean no growth or evolution.
When we go to the gym to exercise we lift weights that are challenging to grow muscle and get stronger. In fact, exercise is stress we expose ourselves to for a purpose, strength and resilience. And in all aspects of life when we challenge ourselves and travel to our “edge”, just outside the comfort zone, we get stronger. And guess what? It feels good to do challenging things. It feels good to face your fears and do things that make you uncomfortable. In fact if you feel an apprehension on whether to do something or not, that might be your sign it’s time to grow some more. And every time we face discomfort and not let limiting beliefs or fears hold us back, we become more and more confident. We continue to step into new versions of ourselves. We are capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for, all you have to do is be willing to be uncomfortable and eventually we learn to find comfort in discomfort.
Be present in your body, notice how you feel without resisting, slow your breath pace, and tell yourself “I’ve got this!”
